In December 2019 the Harness Racing NSW Board approved the establishment of the Education & Welfare Steering Committee, the Steering Committee’s role is to ensure future programs are designed to meet the needs of the NSW Harness Industry and the Mates4Harness welfare initiative was also endorsed.

Ambassadors have been screen by the Harness Racing NSW Integrity Unit, successfully completed a working with children check and their induction session delivered by VERETIS Sport Phycologist Oliver Brecht.
